ML Youth Basketball

The ML Youth Basketball League is for any students in grades 3-6 who attend one of the local Lutheran grade schools. The goal of the program is to give interested athletes a chance to play more, develop their skills, and increase their love of the game.

What grade players are appropriate for this program?

Example: Students will play on a team of either 3rd-4th or 5th-6th grades.

When

What time of the year does this program run?

Example: Season begins in January and goes through February. It has been 6 or 7 weeks.

Where

Where are practices and games typically held?

Example: Practices will happen at one of the local Lutheran schools, likely in ML's Annex at times in the evening once or twice a week. Games are on Saturdays at school districts who are in the league.

Example: Practices will happen when the team is available, and are typically held once or twice a week depending on coach/player availability.

How many games will they play? What days of the week?

Example: Teams will play 6-7 games over the course of the season on Saturdays

Jerseys

Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?

Example: Tops are provided and are able to be kept after the season.

Extra Costs

What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?

Example: There may be admission fees depending on which school hosts. However, the registration fee covers the players needs for the season.

Is it a co-ed or gender specific league?

Boys play boys and girls play girls. This is not a co-ed league.

Who are the coaches?

Parents of players coach the teams. Without parents coaching, the league doesn't happen.

Winter 2026

The ML Titan youth basketball teams will participate in the South Berrien County Basketball League beginning in Mid-January and and going through Mid-February.

Games will held on Saturdays at schools throughout Berrien County.

Practices will be held at a time and place to be determined by the coaches of the team and player availability.

This league is meant to supplement what you are already enjoying in your school's sports programs and will bring together Lutheran school students to participate on an ML team on Saturdays.
