MLHS Flag Football Season

Welcome to MLHS Flag Football! We are a flag football division of the Southwest Michigan Rocket Football Conference. The Southwest Michigan Rocket Football Conference is a group of individual Rocket Football Leagues that formed a scheduling cooperative to facilitate healthy competition between local communities.

The registration deadline for the 2025 season is Friday, July 31, 2026.

Ages

Players should be between 6 and 11, with the cutoff date being August 1.

Rookie ~ 6, 7, 8

Junior ~ 9, 10, 11 (& 12 so long as the player is in 6th grade)

When

Camp: August 3 - 6, 2026

Conference Jamboree: Date TBD

Season: End of August through Mid-October

Where

Football camp during August will be held at Michigan Lutheran High School.

Practices will take place at both MLHS and Grace Lutheran School on the turf field.

Games will take place at Grace Lutheran Field.

Practices

Practices are dependent upon the coaching staff. They will begin the week of August 17 and run through the season. They will be M/W or T/Th.

Games

Games will run on Saturdays from the end of August through the middle of October, with each team playing home games and away games. Teams will also receive one bye week, where they will not have to play.

Other locations include St. Joseph/Maiden Lane Park; Lakeshore Rocket Football Field; New Prairie, Indiana; and a few others.

Jerseys

Jerseys & flag belts are included with the registration fee for the season.

Extra Costs

Players should wear appropriate apparel for football. They should also have a water bottle for all practices and games. Cleats and mouthguards, although not required, are beneficial.

Flag Football 2026

Join us for the 2026 Michigan Lutheran Flag Football season—a fun, faith-based athletic experience that helps young athletes grow both on and off the field! Open to boys and girls ages 6 to 11 (as of August 1, 2026), with 12-year-olds eligible if entering 6th grade for the 2026–2027 school year, our program brings together students from area parochial schools for a season of teamwork, skill-building, and Christ-centered fellowship.

We compete in the Southwest Michigan League, with games held on Saturdays beginning in late August and going through October (specific dates not yet confirmed). We focus on teaching fundamental football skills in a supportive environment, emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and Christian values.

Whether your child is new to the game or building on prior experience, Michigan Lutheran Flag Football offers a positive and encouraging atmosphere to learn, play, and grow. Be a part of the team!
